Persis apakah yang dilakukan otak ketika seseorang tertidur tetap menjadi sebuah misteri bahkan hingga kini. Namun, penelitian selalu menunjukkan bahwa kurang tidur dapat menyebabkan iritasi, mudahnya lupa, kurang fokus dan gangguan konsentrasi. Ini berlaku untuk orang-orang dari segala usia.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Bagi anak-anak terutama, tidur sangatlah penting karena otak mereka masih berkembang. Jika orang dewasa tidak dapat berfungsi dengan baik karena kehilangan hanya 2 jam tidur setiap malam selama satu minggu penuh, bayangkan dampaknya terhadap bayi atau anak-anak sekolah dasar. Ketika berbicara tentang kesehatan, biologi tidak bisa dipisahkan ke dalam kotak yang rapi. Efek kurang tidur akan berdampak kepada semua sistem dalam tubuh.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\">Istirahat juga penting untuk kesehatan tubuh anak-anak secara umum<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Efek terukur dari kurang tidur dapat diamati oleh para ilmuwan ketika mempelajari perubahan komposisi hormon tubuh. Ratusan hormon telah diproduksi ketika seseorang tertidur, termasuk hormon yang mengatur emosi, pertumbuhan, dan bahkan yang spesifik seperti rasa kenyang.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Misalnya, dampaknya terhadap leptin, yaitu hormon yang mengatur perasaan kenyang setelah makan.
