Exploring Creation Through Science: Global Science Fair at IICS
Exploring God’s creation, one discovery at a time!
This spirit came to life at the Global Science Fair at IPEKA Integrated Christian School (IICS). As a Christian school that emphasizes both academic excellence and faith-based learning, this event provided a meaningful opportunity for students to experience science beyond the classroom.
Through hands-on projects, murid from Grades 4–6 demonstrated their understanding of ecosystems by presenting their Habitat Jar creations. Each jar represented a miniature world, carefully designed to reflect different environments such as forests and deserts.
These projects showcased not only scientific knowledge but also creativity and attention to detail, highlighting the delicate balance that exists within nature. Through this activity, murid learned to observe, analyze, and appreciate the complexity of life that God has created.
In addition to exploring ecosystems, murid also engaged in learning about renewable energy through the creation of Solar Pizza Box Ovens.
By harnessing the power of the sun, they discovered how heat energy can be captured and used in simple yet innovative ways. This hands-on experiment allowed murid to connect scientific concepts with real-life applications, making learning both practical and exciting.
More than just a display of projects, the Global Science Fair reflects the core values of a Christian school education. At IICS, science is not only about understanding theories but also about recognizing the greatness of God’s creation. Murid are encouraged to grow in curiosity, responsibility, and stewardship—learning to care for the world that has been entrusted to them.
Moments like these show that learning science can inspire wonder and purpose. Through exploration, observation, and discovery, murid are shaped into individuals who not only gain knowledge but also develop a deeper appreciation for the world around them.
The Global Science Fair at IICS is a reminder that education is most meaningful when it connects knowledge with faith, encouraging murid to explore, create, and grow with a sense of purpose.
