As a grade 7 and 9 Bahasa Indonesia teacher who has taught for more than 15 years, home-based learning (HBL) is definitely a new experience for me. Although IICS has already implemented a teaching system through Google Classroom, HBL is a challenge because I do not do face-to-face meetings with students. Initially, I certainly doubted whether this system would be effective, considering that both the teachers nor the students had done it before.
But apparently, everything changed 180 degrees when I started the first day of HBL.The Google Meet, through which I delivered the teaching materials for 30 minutes at the beginning of each lesson, was well attended by all students. In addition, as a PCT who also used Google Meet for morning devotions, I saw that all of my students in my PCG followed it well. Even though not all of the assignments were submitted on time, the students managed to give reasons that were reasonable and could be well received. This continued the following day and the next. I thank God for the wisdom and for the new experience given to me as a teacher.
