WORD FROM THE ACADEMIC PRINCIPAL

Welcome to the IPEKA Integrated Christian School (IICS) Junior and Senior High. It is a joy to know that you are visiting our website!

In Junior and Senior High, we provide a God-centered education based on our belief that God reveals Himself to humanity through His Word, the Bible. Therefore, teaching and learning in our department promote academic excellence and skills development in content and conceptual understanding and impart Christian values to our students.

Our teachers help students reach their full academic potential, and our students engage in social and physical activities in a safe, faith-nurturing environment. We plan balanced and varied programs that students need and cater to their interests. Parents are our valuable partners. They consult with us to shape the quality of education we offer, such as our choice of the IB Diploma Programme in High School and the use of the New South Wales  Education Outcomes in Junior High.

We in the Junior and Senior High at IICS appreciate our students, families, and teachers - and  I am privileged to work with our Administrative Principal to serve a school community with a united mission, vision, and values among people who care.

Thanks again for visiting our website! Call us if you are in the area, or come in and see us. I would love to show you around.

For Our Good & His Glory!

WORD FROM THE ADMINISTRATIVE PRINCIPAL

Welcome to Junior High and Senior High IICS!

IICS’ mission is to educate children holistically based on Christian values. Flashing back to my own teen years, being in Junior High (middle school) was when I sought out my identity. Looking around, seeing my friends with their own character traits and self-image, I once wondered which ones would fit me well. We, as IICS family, realize how important these years are for each student whom God has entrusted to us. We call it a privilege! We are here to provide guidance to the children in finding confidence in their God-given purpose, as they grow in a healthy community.

In addition to the rigorous NESA academics curriculum, another highlight of Junior High is the House Program, where students are given the opportunity to know others across different grades, even collaborating with them. Through the House Program activities, our goal is to accommodate your child’s emotional, social and physical needs.

As an IB World School, IICS is committed to provide a good quality of education, which we believe will be successful in partnership with the parents. Being bridged by our Pre IB Program in Grade 10, students coming from Junior High are prepared for our International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). The IB Diploma Programme trains students in their independent learning, to have global mindedness, and to learn to work collaboratively. Apart the academic rigor, students are enabled to have a holistic approach in their learning, which is supported through the IB CORE (Extended Essays, Theory of Knowledge, and CAS). We aim to open the pathway for our graduates to be accepted in global universities.

Last but not least, to the same goal of educating our students, I would like to encourage us with the verse from Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

May God be our Guiding Light in the journey….

Pastoral Care Groups (PCGs)

Through PCG program, we aspire to create small groups (8-15 students) where students can build open and safe relationships, while under the shepherding of a caring teacher. An outcome of these groups is also been to build a bridge for easier and a more accessible communication between parents and teachers.

A student who feels welcome and at home in the school setting is much more likely to feel good about him/herself, and excited to participate in the life of the school, including the formal learning, or classroom environment. The IICS JH House Program plays an integral part in supporting the notion of educating the whole child in God’s truth, while embracing IICS core values, and building and developing individual character.

House Programs

We realize that a successful education must meet the academic, social, and spiritual needs of its students. The IICS Junior High House Program strives to meet the aforementioned needs by supplementing the school’s formal academic learning environment with a dynamic and supportive, but less formal, learning environment.

The House Program consists of five ‘houses’ in which the students ‘reside.‘ We have the Bali Sharks, Java Rhinos, Komodo Dragons, Papua Eagles and the Sumatra Tigers. The program was designed to facilitate unity and a sense of belonging, in which students can be nurtured, as they discover their identities.

House Activities

This program offers up to 23 extracurricular classes / activities in a variety of fields, including academics, sports, arts and languages. Each student has the freedom to choose the activity in which he / she will participate during the last block of the day, every Friday. It is a fun and enjoyable way to conclude a long, hard week of diligent studying!

Moving Classes

Moving class method is considered as one of the best international practices for school. It allows the students to move from one class to another so they will keep themselves active. This practice is proven to induce students' motivation to learn as it promotes better focus, and at the end improve their academic result.

Digital Classroom (Chromebook)

All students receive Chromebook during their 3 years study in Junior High School. We realize that nowadays students must move towards the digital era, therefore it is important to make sure that the students are immersed fully in technology. We hope that this technology-based education will prepare students for their future study.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
