Could You Combine Math and Art Together?

Combining math and art is one of the most effective methods to engage our elementary students. Combining the color, emotion, and excitement of an art classroom with the black-and-white world of mathematics might make us all nervous.

As we all know, many of the core skills in art and math are closely related, such as spatial reasoning skills and the ability to recognize patterns. And this time art and math subjects are able to collaborate on a fun project together using Tangram Puzzle as the base.

5th Graders have turned into young artists and mathematicians as they create artwork and practice measuring the perimeter of an object at the same time. Take a look at their artwork here.
