Growing Through Experience: IICS Elementary Activities Recap

Growing Through Experience: IICS Elementary Activities Recap

At IICS, a Christian School committed to holistic education, our recent elementary activity recap showcases how learning goes beyond the classroom through meaningful, hands-on experiences that nurture knowledge, character, and faith in action.

These outings were not just educational trips; they were opportunities for our elementary students to grow in responsibility, creativity, gratitude, and environmental stewardship.

Grade 4 – Learning Responsibility at Kertabumi Recycling Center

Grade 4 students visited Kertabumi Recycling Center with a powerful mission in mind: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. During this visit, students discovered how waste can be transformed into something meaningful through intentional processes and responsible habits. They observed how materials are sorted, processed, and repurposed, gaining a deeper understanding of environmental sustainability. As a Christian School, IICS emphasizes stewardship of God’s creation, and this experience reinforced the importance of caring for the environment. Students learned that small daily actions—such as separating trash or reducing plastic use—can create a significant positive impact when done consistently and responsibly.

Grade 3 – Creativity and Perseverance at Rumah Keramik F. Widayanto

At Rumah Keramik F. Widayanto, Grade 3 students experienced firsthand how patience, creativity, and perseverance can turn simple clay into meaningful art. Guided through the ceramic-making process, they shaped, molded, and designed their own creations. The process required focus and determination, teaching students that beautiful outcomes often require time and effort. In our Christian School environment, character formation is woven into every learning experience. Through art, students not only developed fine motor skills and artistic appreciation but also discovered the value of persistence and gratitude for the talents they have been given.

Grade 2 – Discovering Nature at Godong Ijo

Grade 2 students embraced their role as little explorers in a big green world during their visit to Godong Ijo. Surrounded by lush greenery and diverse animals, they experienced joyful, interactive learning about ecosystems and biodiversity. Meeting animals up close encouraged curiosity and empathy, while guided activities taught them to appreciate and protect nature. As a Christian School, IICS teaches students that caring for living things reflects compassion and responsibility. This outdoor experience strengthened their understanding that loving nature is part of loving the Creator’s handiwork.

Grade 1 – A Joyful Adventure at Inagro

IICS grade 1’s adventure at Inagro was full of green fields, bright cheer, and hands-on discovery. Students explored agricultural environments, learned about farming processes, and observed how food is grown. The experience connected classroom lessons to real-life understanding, helping young learners see where everyday essentials come from. In a nurturing Christian School setting, even simple observations become meaningful lessons about gratitude, hard work, and community contribution. The excitement and smiles throughout the trip reflected how experiential learning builds both knowledge and confidence.

Through these enriching activities, IICS continues to demonstrate its commitment as a Christian School that values experiential learning and character development. By connecting academic lessons with real-world experiences, our elementary students grow not only intellectually but also socially and spiritually. These journeys remind us that education is most powerful when it shapes the mind and the heart together.
