IICS Auditorium Dedication Highlights the Importance of Learning Spaces

IPEKA Integrated Christian School (IICS) recently held a dedication service for its newest facility: the Rev. Dr. William Hosanna Auditorium. Attended by leaders, teachers, and staff, the event marked the official opening of the auditorium, which seats more than 600. It is designed to support a wide range of school and community activities.

Named in honor of Rev. Dr. William Hosanna, a respected figure in Christian education, the 600-seat auditorium was built as a multifunctional venue for chapel services, student showcases, academic ceremonies, and community events. The dedication marked more than the opening of a building—it reflected IICS’ commitment to supporting student development through intentional and well-designed spaces.

This commitment is based on research. Studies show that physical learning environments significantly impact how students engage and succeed. A study by the University of Salford found that classroom design alone can affect academic outcomes by up to 25%. In conclusion, this highlights how important it is for schools to provide thoughtful and supportive environments.

While classrooms lay the foundation for learning, larger spaces like auditoriums play a unique role. For example, they offer students opportunities to develop public speaking skills, perform, collaborate, and experience a deeper sense of community—all of which contribute to holistic growth.

The Rev. Dr. William Hosanna Auditorium is more than just a new facility. Above all, it is a long-term investment in the student experience. It aligns with IICS’s mission to develop students with strong character, leadership skills, and a love of learning that lasts beyond graduation.

In a Christian school setting, where academic goals are integrated with spiritual growth, the learning environment must support both. The new auditorium helps achieve this by creating space not just for instruction, but for reflection, celebration, and connection.

Now open at IICS, the auditorium represents another step forward in providing students with the tools and space they need to thrive in a learning environment.
