IPEKA Teacher and Employee Christmas Service: “Christmas: The Example of Total Obedience”

On December 9, 2023, the IPEKA Christian School family gathered at GKY Mangga Besar for a special service themed "Christmas: The Example of Total Obedience" based on Philippians 2:5-8. Rev. Armand Barus passionately delivered God's word. The service featured choirs from IPEKA Grand Wisata teachers, GW Brothers, and GW Sisters.

Reflecting on Philippians 2:5-8

The foundation of the day's message was Philippians 2:5-8, prompting reflections on Jesus Christ's total obedience. Rev. Barus explained Jesus' incredible obedience, emphasizing His willingness to descend into humanity and die on the cross for mankind's sins.

Jesus' Example of Obedience

Jesus demonstrated extraordinary obedience by:

  • Not considering equality with God as a right to be maintained.
  • Emptying Himself by taking the form of a servant and becoming like men.
  • Humbling Himself by living as a human, enduring sufferings, and obeying to death on the cross.

A Call to Follow Jesus' Example

Rev. Barus invited the congregation to reflect on Jesus' obedience and encouraged them to follow His example. He stressed that obedience should be a choice based on love for God, not a forced obligation.

May the spirit of Christmas and Christ-like obedience inspire every IPEKA teacher and employee, bringing blessings and happiness in their lives.
