Remember The Day of The Ascension of Jesus Christ

Today, May 25, 2022 Christians around the world will celebrate the ascension of Jesus the Messiah. Jesus rose after three days of His death and returned to His heavenly Father on the 40th day. On the day of His ascension, Jesus took the disciples out of the city of Jerusalem, as far as Bethany. The disciples witnessed the ascension of the Lord Jesus to heaven, the Lord Jesus was lifted up into the sky and then disappeared from view after being covered by clouds.

Quoting from CNN Indonesia, Fransiskus Emanuel de Santo, Executive Secretary of Komkat KWI, Jakarta, said in his reflection, “The incident of the ascension of the Jesus Christ to heaven is a mandate for the disciples to preach God's grace to humans. By blessing the disciples, Jesus entrusted them with the task of preaching. They returned to Jerusalem full of joy, and spread the joy to others.”

Through the day of the ascension of Jesus Christ, there are three meanings to be conveyed, namely:

  1. The Ascension of Jesus Christ is to provide a place for His people who believe and live for God in Heaven
  2. The Ascension of Jesus Christ shows the importance of preaching God's Word so that all people in the world know how miraculous and how great His love is for His believing people.
  3. The Ascension of Jesus Christ strengthens confidence so that we don't have to be afraid because Jesus promised not to go and will continue to be with those who believe

“In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.” - John 14:2 NIV

Happy Ascension Day of Jesus Christ.
