Spiritual Emphasis and Enrichment Days in IICS Elementary

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 is an important reminder that God created us to bless and live together with one another. We dedicated our first three days of school, our Spiritual Emphasis and Enrichment Days (SEED), to encourage our students to build a Christ-like community throughout the academic year.

The students attended Chapel to worship God and listen to God’s Word. They were reminded of their need for God's Word and one another to be shaped into Christ-likeness. They were also invited to humbly ask God to renew their hearts and minds, without which they cannot come to know or serve God in their community. We hope that our slogan this year, TAGS (Thankfulness, Apologize, Greet, Smile), will be a helpful reminder of what they can do to reflect Christ’s love in their community.

After attending each Chapel service, the students reflected on how they could faithfully respond to God’s Word in their classrooms. They also assembled a frame that we hope would serve as a reminder that they belong to a community that loves Christ. As SEED ends, our mission to build a Christ-like community continues. Let us be an example and diligently remind the children He has entrusted to us to sharpen one another and glorify Jesus Christ in all their words and deeds.
